The purpose of the Carlsbad Habitat Management Plan (HMP) is to guide the design, management, monitoring, and public use of the City's open space preserves under the auspices of encouraging biological conservation while supporting continued economical development and recreational opportunities. The City's HMP preserve system is currently comprised of twenty-eight individual preserves managed by a variety of public and private entities. The 6000-plus acres of open space provides habitat for rare and endangered plants and animals, and contributes to the regional biodiversity.
Technology Associates has identified biologist Rosanne Humphrey to serve as the dedicated Preserve Steward for the City. She applies her scientific expertise and management experience to the conservation of Carlsbad's preserve system. Ms. Humphrey brings technical proficiency in biological monitoring and land management along with valuable community facilitating skills.
