The Assessor’s Office of Grant County, Washington stores large volumes of information that are relevant to internal processes as well for county residents and business in general. Parcel data is stored on a main frame system and volumes of paper records and maps. Information requests from the public and businesses in general are fulfilled over the phone or over-the-counter placing additional stress on their limited personnel resources.

Technology Associates collaborated in the design and development of a web-based parcel viewer to be used by both internal county personnel as well as the general public.

Implementation of the Parcel Viewer system provided clear benefits by reducing the need for phone and over-the-counter support for the general public.
The self-service model of the system allows realtors as well as the general public access to the public county parcel records using a simple map-driven application.
The system has also benefited the county’s personnel by providing an easy-to-use alternative to the main frame computer.
